Newton, MS — Services for H. Grady Chaney will be held today at 2 p.m. at James F. Webb Funeral Home Chapel with Revs. Jackie Strebeck, Justin Chaney and Mark McDonald officiating. Burial will be in the Lebanon Cemetery in Newton County. Mr. Chaney, 79, of Decatur, died Saturday, Sept. 6, 2008, at Rush Foundation Hospital in Meridian. He was a veteran of the Korean War and a member of the American Legion. He was a Mason and a member of the Hickory Masonic Lodge. He was a member of Grace United Baptist Church. Survivors include his wife, Faye Chaney of Decatur; two daughters, Julia Strebeck, and her husband, Rev. Jackie Strebeck, of Hickory, and Patsy Holyfield, and her husband, John, of Little Rock; one son, Eugene Chaney, and his wife, Wanda, of Decatur; grandchildren, Jeremy Chaney and his wife Brandi, Rev. Justin Chaney and his wife Jessica, Jennifer Moseley, and her husband, Brandon, Jessica Cooley, and her husband, Aaron, Michael Holyfield, and his wife, Karen, and Jenny Holyfield; seven great-grandchildren; one brother, Clyde Chaney, and his wife, Connie, of Payette, ID. He was preceded in death by his parents, James E. and Fannie Lou French Chaney; three brothers and one sister. Visitation will be today from 8 a.m. - 1:45 p.m. at the funeral home. Pallbearers will be Jeremy Chaney, Rev. Justin Chaney, Aaron Cooley, Brandon Moseley, Jerry Chaney, Tommy Chaney, and John Holyfield. Honorary pallbearers will be James Holt, the men of Grace United Baptist Church, and the friends of the Hickory Coffee Shop.
